New technologies, business connections and opportunities for Brazil's Sea Economy marked ACATMAR's participation, the Brazilian Nautical Association, in the Genoa Boat Show in Italy, one of the largest events in the sector worldwide, this month of October. The delegation was led by Leandro "Mané" Ferrari, the association's president, and by Michele Ferrari, Director of Tourism, Events and Sustainability and coordinator of the Limpeza dos Mares project, alongside a group of members.

In all, 15 member companies took part in the delegation, with costs subsidized by agreements signed by ACATMAR. The members came from different parts of Brazil, from São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Ceará, a snapshot that shows the strength of the nautical sector across the country and the association's ability to coordinate it.

Business and new technologies

Besides seeing the show's novelties, the representatives took part in B2B meetings, business-to-business sessions aimed at commercial approximation, with participants from different countries, mainly in the areas of technology and innovation. The members who joined this agenda were selected by the event's organizers after a screening, with the chance to see new products, make contacts and bring novelties back to Brazil.

"More than visiting Genoa, our expectation is to open doors, create connections and bring new opportunities to our members and to Brazil's nautical sector," says Mané Ferrari.

Blue Nautical Hub Brasil 2027 presented to the world

The international agenda was also a chance to present Blue Nautical Hub Brasil 2027, confirmed for April, in Florianópolis. The event will bring together an international symposium, technical visits, business meetings and a fair focused on technology and innovation.

The proposal presented in Genoa seeks to attract international companies interested in bringing to Brazil technologies, products and solutions for different segments of the Sea Economy, among them boating, naval, defense, fishing and mariculture.

Environmental education in Italian

The Limpeza dos Mares project was also presented during the meetings with international companies. The initiative presented in Genoa an Italian-language version of the Turma do Limpeza comic, with a story about cigarette butts.

With the participation of Michele Ferrari, the material was part of the presentation of the Limpeza dos Mares environmental education actions, alongside the business and innovation agenda led by the association.

The delegation's presence in Genoa brought members closer to companies from different countries and put Brazilian projects in contact with potential international partners, focusing on opportunities for the sector and on holding Blue Nautical Hub Brasil 2027.
