Brazil's Financial Activities Control Council (Coaf), through its Supervision Directorate, is holding the event "LD/FTP risks in the luxury and high-value goods, jewelry, gems and precious metals sectors" in September. There will be two free in-person editions, in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with limited seats.

The initiative brings together public bodies, representative organizations and players from the regulated sectors to discuss the risks of money laundering, terrorism financing and financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (LD/FTP), as well as the prospects for improving the applicable regulation.

The topic is of direct interest to the nautical chain: vessels and other high-value assets are among the segments covered by prevention policies, and companies dealing with such goods may be subject to compliance duties. Following the shaping of the new regulation closely is an opportunity for qualification and legal certainty for the sector.

São Paulo — Event I

September 3 and 4, 2026 (Sept 3, 8:30 am to 6 pm; Sept 4, 9 am to 12:30 pm). Central Bank of Brazil Auditorium — Avenida Paulista, 1,804, Bela Vista, São Paulo/SP. 15 seats. Registration until August 20, 2026: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/EQkb7uZT0j

Rio de Janeiro — Event II

September 23 and 24, 2026 (Sept 23, 8:30 am to 6 pm; Sept 24, 9 am to 12:30 pm). Central Bank of Brazil Auditorium — Avenida Presidente Vargas, 730, Centro, Rio de Janeiro/RJ. 15 seats. Registration until September 18, 2026: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/CRW3sBB5rV

The program includes, among other topics: the history and concepts of AML/CFT; the Brazilian AML/CFT system and the duties of obligated persons; the evolution of prevention in the financial sector (with the Central Bank, Febraban and ABBC); the view of Coaf and of the investigation and prosecution bodies (Federal Police, Public Prosecutor's Office and Civil Police) on the luxury and high-value sectors; and the prospects for the new regulation, with debate and closing on the second day.

Registration must be made directly through each edition's form, within the deadlines. Seats are limited.

ACATMAR keeps its members informed about the discussions shaping the future of the sector, bringing the nautical segment closer to the public bodies responsible for regulation and for the integrity of the business environment.
