Sport and Recreational Sailor: a historic achievement

The Federal Senate approved Bill 25/2018, which regulates the profession of Professional Sport and Recreational Sailor, signed into law by the President of the Republic at the end of 2025.

It was a quick and precise effort: during the 5th ACATMAR Technical Training Forum in Florianópolis, the sailors' sector and the president of the Parliamentary Front sat down together, and a matter stalled for years was pulled from the Senate's drawers, taken to the floor and approved.

ACATMAR consolidated the demands, data and technical arguments that supported the work of Senator Esperidião Amin and his team. More than fixing a legal gap, the achievement means professional recognition, legal certainty for marinas and clubs, and more jobs and income in the nautical chain.
